Savills, leading global real estate services provider, asked Amarelle to provide concepts and designs to refurbish their Bristol offices. The offices which were generally open plan were tired and needed considerable updating. Amarelle’s design team came up with a scheme which addressed issues of insufficient meeting rooms and spaces, re-working the entrance into the main office area to provide for a more professional approach into the space. A bright new and more open plan break-out space which not only provided plentiful counter space for the 80 staff occupying the office but also presented an opportunity to have some communal and collaborative meeting space with a bespoke joinery solution and feature lighting.

With creative space planning we were able to provide sufficient work spaces with additional expansion desks for future proofing. 

New internal meeting rooms were provided with glazed fronts and feature bulkhead detail incorporating the Savills brand colours throughout on both walls and flooring. Small one person acoustic booths were installed to provide quiet focussed working points and touch down areas for private phone calls. A fully upholstered booth was also designed and built in situ to provide an informal meeting area, which was fully equipped to provide audio visual facilities too.

 

Key to the Savills brief was decent welfare facilities for the staff, which required the installation of shower facilities and locker space for staff members to keep their personal belongings, with staff and visitor coat storage tucked out of sight to keep the office area sleek and tidy at all times.

 

Previously working on large radial desks the team were used to having significant personal space, however the Savills brief included for reasonable expansion of team numbers. Our designers addressed this need for both space and privacy by proposing a modular desking system which allowed shared storage solutions to provide privacy screening between desks. 

Vital to the whole scheme was a client facing meeting suite and reception area which provided a real impact. Re-using the existing partitioning system and doors we were able to significantly upgrade these areas with feature lighting, new flooring and feature reception desk. We also managed to provide an additional front of house meeting room in a space which had previously appeared cramped and lacking real identity. New front of house kitchen facilities were installed to enable an ease of service to these meeting rooms, with significant food preparation and layout areas.

 

The scheme was delivered snag free in 12 weeks, over 3 phases whilst the clients were still in occupation. Our move management teams worked out of hours in order to create working areas for Savills staff which could be occupied during the works with minimum disruption to their ongoing business operations.
