Amarelle were asked to competitively tender for the fit-out works on Actual Experience’s new Bath offices. Following a successful bid our in house team of Interior architects were enlisted to take a full brief from the key stakeholders and develop this into a creative and inspiring new office environment.

Actual Work delivers the digital Voice of the Customer; an outside-in, real time, data-driven view of what your customers and employees would say about the experience quality of your digital products or services and why they would say it.

Actual tasked Amarelle with taking on the principles of their new branding to create a space that fit for their agile and dynamic team. 

The 6,500 square foot office space in Quay House, central Bath, was divided into two distinct spaces. One side was designed with collaboration and agile working in mind, creating a place to bring clients and instill a café culture with a homely, comforting feel. The other side was designed to be a more practical team working area.
Actual’s new branding is all about team work, merging and overlapping data. Finding things, adding depth and achieving a sense of humour to create a fun place to work. Details such as a small meeting room hidden behind a bookshelf door helped to achieve this.

A variety of different working areas were installed to promote the idea that work need not be just desk based. During the brief taking process a clear requirement for an “all hands” meeting space was identified. Our designers developed a tiered seating area incorporating hidden storage areas for board games and a presentation screen for team briefings. A games area was included to provide valuable down time, booth seating for playing board games doubles as an adhoc meeting area and a wall painted with black board paint allows a wipe-able score board for the team pool table.



The project was conceived, detailed and on site in the space of just 4 weeks. Our design team worked closely with the client and their agent to sign off on key finishes to keep the project running on-time as there was a very clear deadline for client occupation of the space.

Our central Bristol showroom was invaluable in providing a central base for client meetings with samples readily available for Actual to see and feel.

The project was delivered, site and project managed by Amarelle’s in house delivery team in only 7 weeks, with us facilitating an early occupation for the key working area after only 5 weeks. This allowed Actual to maintain continuity of their business when they were required to vacate their former premises. Delivered on time and on budget we liaised successfully with other building users, the landlord and client nominated contractors to bring the project to a successful conclusion, delivering great results, which the client is delighted with.
