Healthy City Week 2016

Originally launched last year as a brand new initiative from Bristol Green Capital Partnership CIC, Healthy City Week is a week-long programme running from 15th to 22nd October. The objective is to shine a spotlight on health and wellbeing that doesn’t cost the earth and aims to inspire citizens of Bristol to achieve healthier lifestyles as part of a more sustainable future city.

To show our support, we'll be hosting the following events from our showroom in the centre of Bristol and it would be great if you came along and tried something new (especially the Bards of Avalon experience):

Bards of Avalon therapeutic sound bath for relaxation (Mon 17th Oct 6-7pm)
Let stresses melt away and experience deep relaxation with a therapeutic sound bath. Join Bea Martin and David Johnson, community soundworkers, as they combine their voices with the sounds of Himalayan Bowls, Gongs to create an uplifting soundscape to enhance your wellbeing.

Raw foods for busy people with Anna Middleton (Tues 18th Oct 6–7pm)
Learn quick and easy raw recipes for people on the go: coffee alternatives that lift you naturally. Breakfast, lunches and snacks that avoid an afternoon energy slump and sweet treats.

Design in Mind: The impact our built environment has on health and wellbeing (Weds 19th Oct 6–7pm)
We know dim lighting makes us feel more relaxed but did you know it also increases creativity? Our immediate environment affects how we feel and act. Chloe Foy will provide the latest evidence from the behavioural sciences in this informative, interactive talk.

Alexander Technique in the workplace (Thurs 20th Oct 6–7pm)
This practical workshop introduces how the Alexander Technique can help you to find poise and ease in your workplace.

You can download the full programme that features more than 150 free or low-cost events that have been organised by a huge number of individuals, groups and organisations across Bristol. It's going to be a great week of wellbeing that doesn't cost the earth so make sure you show your support and get involved!
